Hi.

I am an Emirati foodie who was bit by the travel bug a couple of years ago.

Feel free to recommend your favorite restaurants and hotels for me to review!

24 Hours in Bangkok- Pizza for Breakfast

About an hour after checking in, we decided to head out but stopped at the concierge where we were delighted to find out that we could order seasonally available fruits that would be packed for us. If you ever go to Thailand and have enough weight to do this, a box of fruit is a great gift for friends and family.

As we were figuring out how many kilos of each fruit we wanted, Audthaphol came up to us and excitedly told us that the driver was found and he was on his way back to the hotel to return our money. The hotel lobby was buzzing with excitement and we were treated like superstars, as by now, the story of how we got robbed and Audthaphol had mad detective skills had spread like wildfire amongst the staff.

Upon arriving, the cab driver alleged that he thought I had tipped him 2,300 baht on a 700 baht ride :/. He returned our money in the least gracious way possible and sullenly rejoined the swarm of Bangkok traffic. After thanking the staff profusely, we headed out to Siam Paragon where the hunger pangs lead us down to the lower level and we found the fanciest version of a food truck lot.

I headed straight for Il Trullo and ordered some calamari…not only the best I had on this trip, but possibly some of the best I have ever had. The squid is evenly coated in a crispy golden brown batter and served in an adorable cone. The sauce is a little spicy for my liking but I have always been a purist when it comes to fried food so I don’t like sauces anyway, just a little lime or lemon juice to add a kick.

My friend and I also shared an order of four cheese pizza which was piping hot and really good. Our other friend was sick of our obsession with Italian and Thai food on the trip so she opted for a chicken burrito and she really enjoyed it as it was a healthy take on the hearty meal.

As no meal is complete without dessert, we stopped by the adorably named  Baking Season , a macaroon booth, and enjoyed some salted caramel and vanilla macaroons. My friend claims that they are better than Laduree and she put her money where her mouth was and bought two boxes to take home, I wasn’t quite convinced and opted out. I wish I tried the cupcakes as they looked amazing but I just didn’t have any space for it.

Before heading back to the hotel, we window shopped then stopped at Gourmet Market for some tamarind candies and tom yum soup packets for our families to enjoy.

After a 2 hour nap….
